Loading Zone wines is a small family owned wine business, focused on the production of high quality wines from the Barossa Valley.
We maintain focus on the great strengths of the region and source fruit from a small selection of western ridge vineyards.
Iconic varieties such as Shiraz and Grenache are the backbone of our brand and are made with complexity, generous aromatics and flavours and delivered with a drink now approach.
Tim Freeland
Winemaker/Proprietor
Born and raised in northern Tasmania, Tim found himself transplanted to the Barossa at the age of five, when the family moved to Sheaoak Log.
Growing up, childhood memories of blue skies and rolling wheat fields were soon replaced by lush green canopies of shiraz vines that started appearing along the Barossa’s Western Ridge. From an early age a great appreciation of iconic Barossa shiraz led by the Basket Press and Old Block gave an insight into his future passion.
After a stint in publishing and advertising, Freeland gained an entry back into the wine industry with his former high school mate Dom Torzi as they established the Old Plains and Longhop brands in the early 2000’s.
Loading Zone is the next step in a journey of a life in wine and a nod to his youth and the connection to the Western Barossa.
